Auctioneer’s Report (Greg MacDougall):

Auctioneer’s Report: Auctioneer’s Report (Greg MacDougall): The 3rd Elite Breeding Sheep Sale was another great success with a packed ringside of both local and travelled buyers, some attending for the first time. Ian Lancaster took charge of the Texel and Beltex judging at short notice and many thanks go to him. J Robinson of the Kaker Mill Texel flock once again brought a tremendous consignment of sheep and went on to win the Champion rosette with his first shearling. Sired by “Garngour Action Man” and carrying twins to “Milnbank Brooklyn”, she went on to make £2000, the night’s top price purchased by Mr C Bellis of Flintshire. James sold others to £800, £750 and £500. Another nice run of Texel and Beltex Shearlings from the Procters flock topped at £500 with a stock Texel shearling in lamb to the £100,000 Sportsman Batman carrying twins. David & Karen Shuttleworth, Home Farm, Gargrave took the top honours in the Beltex class peaking at £700 purchased by W Fawcett, Kirkbymoorside. Elsa Mckechnie enjoyed a nice trade with a Blue Texel receiving £500 while Ian Taylor’s major flock reduction of Beltex peaked at £420 with others to £400 twice. Trade in general for Texels and Beltex £220-£400. A nice overall trade and many more could have been sold with customers leaving empty handed.
