Auctioneer’s Report (Will Alexander): Records were smashed at the Annual Sale of Individual In Lamb Sheep, at Bentham Auction on Saturday, by both Dalesbreds and Herdwicks. John & Jean Bradley, Giggleswick set a new Dalesbred female record of £4000, eclipsing the previous £1700 record set in 2020. The 2shear ewe, with 4 generations of show sheep Champions on the dams side, and sired by the £7,000 John Kelsall, Summerlands tup (66/968) and carrying a single lamb to the £4,000 John Harrison tup (11/2157) headed home with Andrew Bousfield, County Durham. Jean Wilson, Dockray, Penrith was also setting records as her Reserve Champion Herdwick Shearling beat the previous record of £1100, when she was knocked down to Frank Brennand of Chapel-le-Dale, Ingleton at £3000.
