Auctioneer's Report (Will Alexander): A much better show of dairy on offer this week. Demand outstripping supply with only 10 forward. Arthur Robinson, Elm Tree Farm opened the sale with a lovely heifer 14days calved, giving 27litres, she was snapped up by David Wannop at £2080, the top price of the day and receiving a £50 Voucher courtesy of Semex. Robert Sunderland also hit £2000 with his 7.5gal 14day calved heifer, a couple of cow making heifers from John Young, Jenkin Cragg realised £1780 & £1800. Numerous purchasers ringside for all types, including the Friesian types, Stephen Brennand’s best hitting £1780, whilst RS & IM Kellet, Pilling achieved £1520 of his month calved 22litre heifer. Only one cow forward, again from The Kellets, a milky 42litre second calver, which sold to a final call of £1620. More dairy required at the fortnightly sales to fulfil demand, from both local and travelled buyers.
