Auctioneer’s Report: Auctioneer’s Report (Will Alexander): Another week of triple figures, plenty of interest ringside, with the best Blue bulls a fantastic trade and generally £405-£445, topping at £455 from Gordon Lewis, Kirkby Lonsdale. Next draw down £335-£360, with the younger end in the late £200s. Heifers to a top of £320, again from Gordon Lewis and also TD & V Whitaker, Winmarleigh, who had others at £300. Most heifers forward were younger and generally £230-£270. Other Continentals saw Limousins peak at £350 for a Gallaber sired bull from J & N Ashton, Bentham, whilst heifers hit a top of £295. Angus calves in demand, the best calves to £340 from D & A Blacoe, Lytham, with the last calf in the ring, a 4month old from A & RA Middleton realising £395. Majority of Angus heifers £170-£175 with a couple of small sorts pulling the average back. Black and whites generally £75-£92, the next bracket £45-£60, a bull stirk from Gibson and Berry topped the section at £195, plenty of demand for strong weaned black and whites.
