Auctioneer’s Report (Will Alexander): Another strong dairy trade - a tremendous show of cows & heifers met plenty of demand from local and travelled buyers. A serious 2nd calved cow, giving 36litres, from George & David Whitwell topped the day realising £2380. Eddy Woodhouse, Ellel had a third calver at £2200, whilst his second calver realised £2000. The best of the heifers came from James Bainbridge at £2250, this lovely pedigree heifer, ‘Dalesbrad Hampton Andrea’, was 8days calved and currently giving 25litres, she was snapped up by John Howard, Skipton. Later matching the same price was Richard Robinson with ‘Kelletview Twist Present 2’, this lovely uddered heifer yielding 30litres took the eye of Dave Matthias. A total of 20 cows and heifers over £2000, 17 heifers of which were over £2100, averaged £2003.
