Auctioneer's Report (Will Alexander): Trade for all classes continues to be strong. However the Black and Whites were considerably dearer for all types. 37 black and white bulls forward saw a total of 26 over £100 and 14 over £150. Numerous calves £158-£175 with the better end £180-£192 topping at £200 on 3 occasions, firstly from Roger Bainbridge, Middleton with a weaned bull, followed by Trevor Hodgson, Dent with a pair at the same money at 5weeks. Younger end sorts equally as strong, 22-27day old calves from DR Robinson £130-£140. Those white or a little plainer £90+ with the smalls either side of £40, a staggering average of £130 for all forward. Continentals continue to be in demand with Ian Hodgson, Tatham at the top with his Blue bull at £450, others to £412 from Edward & Angela Booth and Family, Wigglesworth, others regularly in the £300s. Heifers a little sharper, the best to £360 from Gibson & Berry, again the better end on the day £300+. Angus short of requirements, with only 3 bulls topping at £265, Herefords well followed with some month old calves around £250. Montbelliardes and Fleckviehs to a top of £245 and £360 from G Beresford and Brian Barnes respectively.
