Auctioneer’s Report (Stephen Dennis): The highlight of the morning was the sale by Joe Gorst of a ewe and lamb with the proceeds donated to the NW Air Ambulance. The Dorset x Leicester was the last female sheep bred by his late mother Janet Gorst which was suckling a Beltex Texel lamb. The outfit initially sold for £200 to Steven Crane of Ribchester who immediately donated it to be sold again. The outfit went on to be sold several times making £250 to Neil & Linda Allan, £300 to Frank & Sue Towers, £400 to the Kelsall Family, £600 to a fund raised by Auction Yard Staff, Office Staff and café. The outfit was finally sold to Aaron Troughton of Sedbergh for £250. A total of £2000 was raised through the sale of the sheep and together with other donations, the fund finally reached £3398. A fantastic result and a credit to all who donated.
