Auctioneer’s Report (Will Alexander): Some super Blue heifers forward, the best coming from Dave Harrison, Birks Farm, bred out of a Lim x cow, realising £520,  bought for further breeding by Isaac & Robert Woodhouse. Dairy bred blue heifers saw the older sorts to £415, whilst younger sweet sorts realised £410 & £405. Others often in the mid £300s. Bulls to a high of £460 from J & N Young, Jenkin Cragg, better end £410+ with the mediums like the heifers in the mid to late £300s. Just a handful of other continentals forward. A nice growy Limousin from DR Robinson to £450. Angus bulls not as strong as sometimes, the best pair from Ken Polkinghorne at £365 & £375, whilst younger sorts made £275-£285, a similar trade for the Herefords. Heifers a shade easier, the best on the day at £200 from J Lawson & Son, with the next draw either side of £150. More black and white bulls forward, including more young calves, trade not quite as sharp as last week, the best to £220 from The Wallbanks, close behind was The Crackles at £208, others £140-£160, next draw £100-£130 with the mediums £60-£90 and the small lightweights less. Calves next week in the Calf ring at 11am due to the Christmas Dairy Show.

BrB Heifer from F & E Harrison tops the sale at £520
