Auctioneer’s Report (Will Alexander): More numbers forward and those showing were rewarded by a super trade from start to finish by the 22 buyers present. Plenty of quality continentals, saw the best Blue bulls well over £400, 5 selling between £460-£495 and 2 from Doug Wallbank topping the day at £565 a piece. A trio of Limousin bulls from GM Metcalfe, Underbarrow peaked at £400 at 4weeks old. Heifers sharper on the week, the best to £380 from Edward Towers, Holme Head with a blue, other better sorts £330-£375, with some plainer end looking very well sold in the late £200s. Native calves saw the top end Angus in excess of £400, John Airey topping at £430 closely followed by David Robinson at £420, younger calves £250-£320. Dairy bulls well sort after, Fleckviehs to a top of £405 from Will Robinson, Slaidburn. Black and whites well sought after and regularly £100+, best of the rearers to £112, whilst 3 weaned calves from Roger Bainbridge topped at £180.
