Top of the tree this week per head was heavy Texels from J Stenton, Pickering realising £185 with Messrs Sayer, Hackthorpe topping per kilo at 377.5p. Best of the handy weights 320p-370p with nicer commercial sorts 280p+. Best heavy butcher hoggs £140-£165. A raft of hoggs weighing 44kg-47kg often sold between £120-£130 with a few better quality types £130+. Heaviest Mules £120-£128 topping at £131.50. Handier weights 260p-265p with plainer sorts around 250p. Best horned hoggs 250p-260p with the best in money terms £120-£126. Lighterweights depending on quality, best 300p+, commercials 270p-280p and store types 240p-260p.
