Auctioneer's Report (Stephen Dennis): In the Dalesbred section, a new breed record price was set for a Dalesbred female when Messrs Chandler of Kirkby Malzeard paid £1700 for a 2 shear ewe down by Colin and Alan Price of Longlands. The record priced ewe was sired by a Bernard Gill, Yarlsber tup 203/1108 carrying twins to the Michael Carr (Brackenbottom) tup 7/1671. The pre-sale judge Mr Andrew Bousfield of Barnard Castle chose a gimmer shearling from RH Close as champion with a 2 shear ewe from Michael Dawson, Field Head as reserve, buying both for £500 and £700 respectively.
