Auctioneer’s Report (Will Alexander): A light show but serious trade. John & Nicola Young leading the way with their best Blue bulls at £570 & £430, other top prices to note from Doug Wallbank and Co realising £455, £435 & £425 (x2), Craig Johnson £445 & £430, most of the 13 bulls forward were stronger but younger sorts either side of £350. Heifers to a top of £340 twice, firstly from the Youngs later matched by J Lawson & Son. Younger or lighter heifers £240-£315. Angus bulls to £460 from W&S Airey, West Hall, those a shade younger £350-£380. Best heifers to £400 again from W & S Airey, others £170-£230 with some very young sorts less. Dairy bulls on fire, Fleckviehs to £420 from Brian Barnes, whilst the best B & Ws £350, £360, £370 at 11 weeks from J & N Young, Kendal, others £100 & £185, a big shortage with only 5 forward and buyers leaving empty handed! Big show of calves expected next week!
