Auctioneer’s Report (Greg MacDougall): All classes sold to another fast trade with more required to fulfil increasing buyer demand. The highlight of the evening’s sale was the annual show with Procters Farm Ltd continuing their winning run. A fantastic pen of Beltex ewes took the Champion rosette and topped the night’s sale at £185 being bought by Andrew Thompson. Procters showed further pens of Texels ewes to £174-£161. A & H Watson, Middleton Hall won both the Swaledale and Other Horned ewe section realising £77-£90.50. Away from the show, heavy ewes sold between £100-£125 with the best and pure ewes £130-£170. Good selling types £80-£95 with lean types £60-£80. Mule ewes now making £90+ for the heavier end with Wannops farms Ltd topping at £100. Next cut down £75-£85 with the lean types £60+. Best fleshy Swale ewes £60-£70 with a few exceptions and heavier horned breeds £70-£80. Medium sorts £50+ with plain types £30-£40. Best of the rams £110-£130 topping at £134.50 from JR Corless. Goats sold to £90 from F Brennand, Ellerbeck.
