Auctioneer’s Report (Stephen Dennis):Auctioneer’s Report (Stephen Dennis): The Dispersal Sale of 529 head of Simmental and Simmental x cattle attracted a large and enthusiastic audience with buyers from Scotland, Wales and the Northern and Southern Counties of England keen to purchase from a stock of very genuine cattle. 251 cows with calves at foot sold to a top of £2250 to average £1674. Purebred Simmentals averaged £1745 per family. 39 Welsh Black families were particularly well sought after topping at £1920 to average £1572 with many outfits heading back to Wales. The eight bulls forward sold to £2500 for Lugden Hall Ivan 17 and Lugden Hall Ivor 17 and averaged £2153. A group of eight geld feeding cows at the close of the sale sold at premium rates up to £1400 to average £1218.
