Auctioneer’s Report (Greg MacDougall): More lambs now coming onto the market nationwide and Bentham being no exception with the largest show of the season forward so far. Heavy and best bred lambs along with lightweight lambs (under 35kg) good to sell with export weights harder to place. Commer-cial export lambs either-side of 180p with nicer types 190p-200p. Best bred types 201p-245p topping at 245.2p or £103 for the best of an outstanding run of lambs from S R & P A Thompson, Newfield who sold others to £100 or 243.9p. Heavier lambs £85-£98 depending on breed and quality. Lighter weight Continentals 175-185p topping at 186.8p from J R Drinkall, Cheshire. Lambs over 42kg certainly best to sell with lambs lacking flesh best kept or sold store to maximise returns.
