Auctioneer’s Report (Will Alexander):A slightly sharper dairy trade compared with a fortnight since, a nice entry of both cows and heifers for the Genus sponsored sale, George and David Whitwell receiving the £100 voucher for the highest price heifer, their non-ped 30litre heifer realising £2180, heading north with 4 others to Carlisle. John Fox and John Huddleston both at £2000 with their heifers, others as a rule £1780-£1980 with a few plainer sorts just shy £1700. More cows on offer, Peter Swindlehurst first in the ring, and straight to the top with his 2nd calver “Tranthwaite Cabriol Janet” yielding 35litres at 10days calved she realised £2080. The Whitwells also up at £2000 with a 2nd calver, others £1650-£1850.
