Auctioneer’s Report (Will Alexander): Demand for Angus bulls was strong, with the top four spots over £400 at £400, £420, £425 & £435 all taken by J Whitaker & Son, Nether Kellet. Plenty of others £350+, with the smaller sorts £250-£280. Heifers to a top of £300 from the same home, the majority £230-£250. A nice show of Blues, the top end sticking to the recent strong trade, the best £410-£430, with the sale topper coming from A & MA Wright & Son at £460, medium bulls £270-£310 with nothing less. Henry Knowles’ best heifer to £420, his second at £360, others generally £250-£290. A few more Limousins on offer, the best heifers to £380 from James & Neil Ashton, bulls to £335 from Steve Wallbank. A bigger show of 35 B&Ws, more farmer buyers ringside too. The top end £120-£135, with the best Friesian bulls from A&MA Wright & Sons and Ken Polkinghorne at £210 & £215. plenty of others £80-£108 with the smalls either side of £60.
