Auctioneer's Report (Will Alexander): A moderate show of calves with a shortage of the best forward. No problems with the trade however, the best native calves to £375 for Angus bulls from Dave Martin and £232 for Angus heifers from Jim and Oli Parkinson, Woodplumpton. Plenty of Angus bulls £280-£315, heifers £200-£230. Numerous Herefords today– 10 bulls peaked at £262 x 2 from JM & T Livesey, Inskip. Heifers £220-£240 peaking at £255 from JH Towers. Very few Continental calves forward. Blue bulls to £350 from MJ Fell, others from the same home and Andrew Booth to £340. Blue heifers to £320 and £300. The best calf of the day from Frank Towers, a smashing Limousin heifer which realised the top price at £425. 28 B + W bulls saw the best end £122-£155 topping at £170 from WE & G Hewitt, Cockerham. Next draw £60-£80 averaging £101.
