Auctioneer’s Report (Greg MacDougall): A good show of cattle forward for the March sale with trade similar on the month, the usual busy ringside of customers in attendance including a few additional faces from Cheshire, East Yorkshire and the North East, plenty of pens of cattle in forward condition with trade generally £1600-£1900 with longer term feeding sorts £1300-£1500. The best of the bulling heifers nicely sought after which included the annual consignment from J & I Whitaker, Bowsber topping the sale at £2100 with others to £2000 and close behind a pure Limousin from W & NL Baines to £1980. A strong demand for B + Ws with new customers ringside. Topping the section was a pair from TD Inman to £1490 with TH Atkins’ consignment of 50 to a top of £1270.
