Auctioneer’s Report (Will Alexander): More dairy on offer today, with 28 milkers and 5 in-calf cows forward. Ted and Alex Walton picked a superb 2nd calved cow, from Father and Son duo Peter & Peter Swindlehurst, as their champion over Robin Jennings first prize heifer. She was later sold 10days calved and yielding 35 litres, snapped up by John Livesey, Inskip at £2050. Robin’s heifer caught the eye of Bentham local Gary Atkinson who took her home at £1850. Other prices to note include Peter Swindlehurst’s best heifer at £2000 and Steven Lawson’s best at £1900. Another strong 2nd calved cow from Oliver Greenhalgh also reached £2000. Plenty of Heifers in the £1700 bracket, with others £1500-£1600. Phillip Mason’s in calf cows sold to a top of £1050 twice for Danish Reds due with the 4th & 5th calvers.
